Description

This is a medium-term request, not an immediate problem. Not sure if this should be directed to Stephen, Patrick, or someone else.

It would be great if there could be a bicycle loop detector installed for the left turn from southbound Mass Ave to eastbound Vassar St. I didn't know the left turn signal was based on a vehicle loop detector at all - I assumed the left turn arrow came on in every cycle. But this morning I was on my bike and the only person attempting a left onto Vassar, and the green left arrow never activated. I know that a bicycle loop is not really part of the South Mass Ave quick build improvements, but it seems like a reasonable medium-term project.

Alternatively, for those who aren't comfortable taking the lane on a bike, it would be great if we could find a way to squeeze a left-turn bike box for cyclists to make that turn from Mass Ave to Vassar toward Kendall Square. Not sure if there is space for that, though. Thanks!
