Description

I know that pavement marking season is winding down with the cold weather, so consider this a request for next spring. Could the bike lanes on Hampshire Street get some more high-viz green markings at cross streets, especially unsignalized ones like Clark St.? In the mornings, eastbound traffic can back up from the traffic signal at Portland past Clark. Clark is one-way to the south, so it collects some people trying to access Kendall or Central from the northeast. Altogether, it results in motorists driving across Hampshire, through a lane of backed up traffic (providing the box is not blocked), and across the southbound bike lane, which has some dashed lines here but oncoming cyclists are not visible to Clark motorists, and vice versa. High-viz paint would at least better help motorists know to expect cyclists here. I've almost been hit here a few times by motorists trying to quickly get across this intersection through a gap in the backed up traffic.

Thanks for looking into it. Hope this makes it on the list for next spring.
