Description
There've been a lot of complaints recently about how motorists drive dangerously through the 4-way stop intersections at Walden+Raymond and Upland+Raymond. I'd like to draw some attention to the mid-block crosswalk at the entrance to Raymond Park on Walden Street. I commute by bike so I've had my share of close calls with motorists, but recently one of the scariest parts of my commute has been walking across this crosswalk at rush hour (morning and evening). Even though I wear a high-visibility vest and am hard to miss because I am walking alongside my bike, three times in the last couple weeks motorists have failed to yield to me when I am already in the middle of the crosswalk.
The best solution here would be to install a raised crosswalk to force motorists to stay slow through here, although I doubt such an infrastructure improvement would happen any time soon. But would it be possible to install one of those mid-crosswalk "MUST YIELD TO PEDESTRIANS" bollards/signs here? And possibly some spot enforcement by police? Thanks for looking into this.
