We have noticed a serious increase of motorcycles speeding down Greenough Boulevard, accelerating from the Fresh Pond Parkway/Mount Auburn Street intersection - sometimes seemingly circling the river. It gets especially bad late at night (1AM!) and on the weekends. We have tried to reach out to city officials without much reaction at all. The noise is seriously impacting us who reside along the big intersection. While we have heard that motorcycles cannot get fined based on noise given the lack of accurate noise measuring tools - speed could be a way to at least monitor if not stop them. Interestingly, "noise sensitive" areas are areas that have schools, hospitals or nursing homes etc - all of which are located in this area (especially the nursing home and hospital!)
Please! The intersection is bad enough - and the speeding is dangerous enough - yet, can we really not be protected against this terrible noise pollution?
