That's the million dollar question. San Francisco neighborhood groups fought hard to keep those ugly boxes out of their neighborhoods and lost. Of course, they will end up blighted with graffiti. Try calling 611. Maybe you will get a real human.

Thanks, Eileen. I thought I saw a post some months ago about contacting ATT directly. I don't mind the box at all, just the filthy abuse it gets.

Since the utility boxes are for AT&T U-Verse maybe using the U-Verse number listed here will get you through to someone.

City of Oakland Public Works Department addressed this issue on 07/23/2014, service request # 529920.

The "belongings" are cleaned out. There is still a little trash behind utility box, but I will take it. Thank you.
